The difference between CardScan Executive and CardScan Team

There are a few differences between CardScan Executive and CardScan Team. Following is a general overview that will certainly steer you in the right direction when choosing between the 2 options.

What's in the box?
CardScan Exec ships with 1x scanner and 1x software licence.
CardScan Team ships with 1x scanner and 2x software licences.
CardScan Exec and CardScan Team both use exactly the same scanner model.

The software?
CardScan Exec and CardScan Team both use the same software, but with one major difference………
CardScan Executive has a single-user database.
CardScan Team has a multi-user database.

But what exactly does this mean?

When you scan a business card (in either CardScan Exec or CardScan Team), that business card is automatically stored in CardScan's database as a 'contact'.

If you have CardScan Executive, only one user can access that contact using the CardScan software.
If you have CardScan Team, multiple users can access that contact using the CardScan software.

But, in a lot of cases, CardScan owners actually migrate the contacts across to a different application (such as Outlook, Address Book, Excel etc) after they have scanned in the business cards. And once the data is exported/synced out of the CardScan software to another application, the contacts are free to be accessed by anyone, regardless of whether you own CardScan Executive or Team.

In summary.....

If you're looking to create a central database using CardScan as your database software, CardScan Team is for you.

If you're not planning on using CardScan as a central database for multiple users, or if each person just wants their own CardScan database, then CardScan Executive could be a better bet. Furthermore, if you simply want to scan business cards and export/sync contacts to another application, then CardScan Exec will do the job.
